In cases where the entire text of one of the books below is currently online, a link is provided.Īpalachee: The Land Between the Rivers, by John H. A more complete bibliography of journal articles, individual book chapters, and other publications that address the many facets of this subject is far beyond the scope of this page right now, but the books below will, in most cases, lead readers to many additional sources. I have focused on the most recent books, but have also included some of the older "classic" sources (only a few prior to the 20th century), some of which are very out of date, including early English translations of original narratives. The books listed below are provided in order to provide a basic bibliography of books that primarily or exclusively deal with some aspect of colonial Spanish Florida during the First Spanish Period from an historical and/or archaeological perspective. The bibliography below includes both a list of books that I compiled over the years, as well as a more expansive bibliography compiled by students in a graduate seminar class I taught in 2013.
